Gaëtan Roussel
Author, composer, singer and producer, Gaëtan Roussel is hugely privileged to be among the highest sellers of albums in France,
thanks to the success brought about by Louise Attaque, and the first album in particular that sold more than three million copies.
After the second album by the group Comme On A Dit, Gaëtan Roussel created Tarmac while his accomplices launched Ali Dragon. Tarmac's adventure lasted two studio albums and one live: L'Atelier in 2001, Notre Epoque in 2003 and Concert au Réservoir in 2004. In 2005, Louise Attaque reformed at the time of the A Plus Tard Crocodile album and their tour.
Louise Attaque took a break and this gave Gaëtan Roussel the opportunity to involve himself in other activities including producing Alain Bashung's last album Bleu Pétrole (released in 2008) and the original soundtrack for the film Louise Michel. The following year, he hooked up with Rachid Taha for his album Bonjour and wrote the hit "Il y a" for Vanessa Paradis, as a bonus track on her Best of.
In December 2009, Gaëtan Roussel took his first steps as a solo artist on the stage at the Transmusical festival in Rennes, and worked on his first album. “Ginger” was released in March 2010 and unanimously praised by the critics was awarded three Victoires de la Musique in 2011 "best male artist and album of the year".
